dead mice behind
the stove, bellies curled
around poison
I scattered.
under the futon:
balloon dog, remote, dead
soldiers.
they've cordoned off
our block with coffeeshops
like they're making a moat.
we’re the alligators.
drag up an invoice
for night
as if the projector
could silver our organs.
we drowsy
we slogans
slurred.
we icefoam over
the bridge’s
struts.
what color the virus?
the brother's coat?
liver-light.
day like a fuse.
girl like a paper bag
damp on the bottom.
